Light or Rich: how to choose, and when to switch

AVL SOM3 texture

The most common question we are asked assumes that Rich is the stronger product. It is not. Both creams carry an identical dose of AVL SOM3®; the difference is the lipid phase that carries it.

Start with how your skin behaves at 4pm

If your forehead shines by mid-afternoon, Light. If your cheeks feel tight after washing, Rich. If both are true — and in Irish winters both are frequently true — use Light in the morning and Rich at night. Roughly a third of our customers end up here.

Texture is not a strength setting. It is a delivery decision, and your skin makes it differently in February than in July.

Switching seasonally is normal and costs nothing in results. What does cost results is applying a rich texture to skin that cannot absorb it, then concluding the range does not work.
